A tour that takes you from your hotel in Marrakech to explore the desert, villages, and mountainous regions of the vast Moroccan Sahara. During this excursion, you will cross mountain passes with views stretching for miles, visit kasbahs, and enjoy a camel ride in Merzouga across the dunes of Erg Chebbi. There’s nothing more spectacular than spending a night in a Bedouin camp. This experience allows you and your group to admire the stars, witness the sunset and sunrise on a camel ride, and see hundreds of kasbahs. The shared adventure concludes in the enchanting city of Fez.
The first part of the tour begins with gathering participants at designated pick-up points in Marrakech. We will then journey through the High Atlas Mountains, where the roads are often steep and provide breathtaking views. It will be a six-hour drive from Marrakech to the Dades Valley.
Next, we will descend to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Much of the visit will be guided, allowing you to discover many fascinating items in the fortified souk.
We will then pass through the desert oasis of Skoura and visit the Valley of Roses. Our route will continue along the road where you can observe the famous 1001 Kasbahs. The first night will be spent in a hotel in the Dades Valley, with dinner served at the Dades Valley Hotel.
The second day of this adventure begins with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a four-hour drive to Merzouga. Along the way, we’ll have the opportunity to stop in the small town of Tinghir, take a leisurely stroll through the Todra Oasis, and explore the stunning Todra Gorges. We’ll then continue our journey, passing through the towns of Erfoud and Rissani.
Upon reaching our destination in Merzouga, we’ll be greeted by a camel caravan. At this point, we’ll embark on a one-hour camel ride across the dunes of Erg Chebbi, timed perfectly to coincide with the Saharan sunset. We will then spend the night camping in a Bedouin camp in the desert.
The third day of this adventurous tour in the Moroccan desert will be dedicated to enjoying Merzouga. We’ll start with breakfast at the hotel and have the opportunity to swim in the hotel’s pool. There will be free time to explore the various activities available in the desert region, such as quad biking, dune buggy rides, and cycling, which are available at an additional cost. The day will end with an overnight stay at the hotel, where we will enjoy an excellent dinner.
We will rise early to witness the sunrise, followed by breakfast. Our first stop will be in Midelt, known as the “Apple City.” Next, we’ll visit Ifrane, often referred to as “Little Switzerland,” before continuing our journey to Fez. We expect to arrive in the vibrant city around 6:00 PM, marking the conclusion of our tour.
