5-Day Atlas Experience a thrilling five-day journey through Morocco, starting from the vibrant city of Fes and concluding in the magical city of Marrakech. This tour offers a deep dive into the nation’s diverse landscapes, rich historical sites, and vibrant cultural traditions.
Depart from Fes, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and journey towards Merzouga, passing through Ifrane, known for its distinct European architecture and cedar forests. After a stop in Midelt for lunch, continue through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass and Erfoud, before reaching Merzouga. There, leave your luggage at an auberge and head into the desert on camels to spend the night in a traditional tent, enjoying dinner and local music by the campfire.
Awake early to catch the sunrise over the dunes. After camel trekking back to Merzouga for breakfast, visit nearby villages such as Hassi Labied and Khamlia. In Khamlia, enjoy the hospitality of local Gnawa musicians over tea and then head towards the Algerian border for a scenic picnic. Return to Merzouga for dinner and overnight.
Early morning departure back to the auberge for breakfast and a refreshing shower. Drive to Rissani to explore traditional desert villages and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif. Continue to Todra Gorges, passing through Amazigh villages and the oasis of Tinghir. Overnight in the gorges, known for their breathtaking limestone cliffs.
After breakfast, travel to Ouarzazate via the Dades Gorges and Roses Valley. Stop for lunch in the oasis of Skoura, surrounded by hectares of roses, before arriving in Ouarzazate to explore its famous cinematic locations. Dinner and overnight in the city.
Depart Ouarzazate after breakfast and visit the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and filming location for numerous movies. Traverse the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka pass, with stops for photos, before concluding your journey in Marrakech in the evening.
