Your 8-day desert tour from Tangier with Viajarmarrakech begins with a meeting with your driver and transfer to your hotel in Tangier. Depending on your arrival time, we might visit some of Tangier’s attractions.
On the second day of our Morocco budget trip, we will cross the Rif Ranges, passing by many Berber villages, and head to Chefchaouen, known as the blue pearl. Chefchaouen is renowned for its stunning blue-washed structures of the Medina. Explore its narrow cobbled streets, leather and weaving workshops, and the main plaza of El-Ota-Hammam. Chefchaouen is the perfect town to enjoy the beauty of nature.
From Chefchaouen, we will drive across the Rif green mountains to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the oldest UNESCO site we will visit on our Morocco budget trip. Afterward, we will explore Meknes, starting with a walk in Lahdim square, visiting Bab Mansour, the largest gate in Morocco, Kara underground prison, Sahrij basin, and Heri Esswani. In the afternoon, we will continue our journey to Fes.
Our local guide will show us the most historical city during our 8-day desert tour from Tangier. Walk through its lanes to the Royal Palace golden gate and the Jewish neighborhood. Explore the ancient Medina, the Tanneries, and the University of El-Qaraouine. In the afternoon, enjoy a panoramic view of Fes before having free time to wander around the Medina.
From Fes, we will drive over the Middle Atlas ranges, through Ifrane, and on to the Sahara desert via the High Atlas. Our first stop is in Ifrane, nicknamed the Switzerland of Morocco. Continue to the Merzouga desert, where we will meet our camel guide to start the adventure of our 8-day desert tour from Tangier. Cross the dunes of the Sahara, enjoy the sunset, and proceed to the camp to enjoy drum music and dancing under a starry sky.
Our camel guide will wake us early to witness a stunning sunrise. After breakfast in the camp, we will drive alongside Ziz valley palm groves, crossing the High Atlas and Middle Atlas mountains. Enjoy beautiful landscapes and Berber villages. After lunch in Boulaajoul, continue to Meknes through the Azrou and Boufekrane grape farms.
