This tour will take you across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka Pass, through the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, and into the cinematic city of Ouarzazate. You’ll venture along the lush Draa Valley, enjoy a camel trek through the dunes of Zagora, and experience a night under the stars in a desert camp. The journey concludes with a return to Marrakech, offering a glimpse into Morocco’s diverse landscapes and rich history.
- Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Zagora
We will depart early in the morning, crossing the High Atlas Mountains and reaching the Tizi N’Tichka Pass, which stands at 2,260 meters. We then continue to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a remarkable Ksar listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This stunning location has served as the backdrop for several films, including The Mummy, Gladiator, Seven Years in Tibet, and Babel. After lunch with a view of the Ksar, we continue our journey towards Zagora, following the scenic Draa
About 5 kilometers past Zagora, we’ll embark on a one-hour camel trek through an exceptional natural environment, where the air is so pure that sights and sounds carry for hundreds of kilometers, creating a serene silence that is almost palpable. We’ll witness a stunning sunset, followed by dinner and an overnight stay in Zagora.

Day 2: Zagora – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will explore the palm groves and local communities, which boast a rich and diverse cultural heritage. We will have lunch in Ouarzazate and enjoy a brief orientation tour of the city, including visits to the Kasbah of Taourirt and the film studios. We then return to Marrakech via the Tichka Pass, bringing our excursion to a close.
